Should I wash my hair before my color appointment?

At Oak & Ivy we shampoo to clarify your hair before every color service so no need to wash your hair before you come to the salon.

How often should I use blue/purple shampoo and which shampoo works best?

If you have orange tones you need blue shampoo and if you have yellow tones you need purple. How often you use it is going to change from person to person. We can discuss how often you should be using it at your appointment. As far as the brand of shampoo we recommend Fanola blue shampoo and Unite purple shampoo.

Should I have clean hair for my extension appointment?

No need to worry about washing your hair, we will wash it before the extension install.

How often should I come in to keep my color fresh?

We recommend coming in 4-5 weeks after a blonding service to get a toner to keep the blonde looking fresh. As far as lightning your hair we recommend coming back in 8-12 weeks to touch up the blonde.
